Mission Statement

Silver Threads & Golden Needles (S.T.G.N.) is a non-profit adjunct program of the Lawrenceville Housing Authority located within the Metro-Atlanta area of Gwinnett County.  Led by staff and volunteers and guided by a strong commitment to family and community.  It is our mission to provide companionship and assistance to all of  our residents, including senior and disabled residents through activities and education.  It is the goal of STGN to embroider the lives of our residents through volunteerism while creating a tapestry of generational understanding. 

We are a nonprofit organization with the mission of strengthening individuals and families in the Lawrenceville Housing Authority providing avenues towards achieving self-sufficiency. 

Several programs and services are offered to assist with this mission: After School Centers, Computer and Career Development Programs,  and Commodity Food Distribution.
